The Society’s club show held in conjunction with the Budgerigar Society Club Show suffered a drop in entry in both the Rare Variety & Clearbody sections while the AOC section was higher. The winners enjoyed receiving the newly designed certificates kindly designed and donated by John Cosby.
B.S. President Eric Peake judged the Rare Variety section with an entry of 31 (38 in 2015), Tom McCrindle judged the Clearbody section with an entry of 35 (42 in 2015) and Eric Peake judged the Any Other Colour with an entry of 75 (52 in 2015).
Eric Peake judged this section and awarded the adult CC to an Anthracite cock of good style and size and staged in good condition and very steady on the perch, benched to the surprise of many by Richard & Michael Miller. A good coloured English Fallow Green cock of fine marking staged by Tony Clegg was second. Deamonn Mullee benched a large Yellowface Slate hen in third place.
For the second year running Deamonn Mullee captures the young bird CC with a stylish good coloured Slate cock of quality and staged in good condition. This was followed by Tony Clegg with his English Fallow Green cock of fine markings and good body colour. Mick Anzara benched another quality English Fallow Green cock in third place.

Tom McCrindle judged this section and awarded the adult CC to Michael Chapman’s Texas Clearbody Opaline Skyblue cock of good variety content and stood well with good feather condition. Daniel Norman occupied the next two places with Texas Clearbody Grey hen of good head quality and nice spots in second place and a long Texas Clearbody cock in third place.

Daniel Norman headed the young bird section with a good wide headed and large size good variety content Texas Clearbody Grey hen of good spots. Cy Thorne benched a large deep masked TCB Yellowface Opaline Skyblue cock in second place while Daniel Norman was third with a TCB cock.
Any Other Colour
Eric Peake judged this section and awarded the Any Age Best of Colour winner to last year’s young bird certificate winner, the large good stylish with super head quality Grey White cock of Gary Shepherdson & David Fisher staged in good condition. A Greywing Skyblue hen from M Hacker of good stance and style was second followed a quality Lacewing Yellow hen of good deep body colour in third place for Tom & Andrew Luke.

Another super Opaline Blue White hen from Shepherdson & Fisher headed the young bird section with good width of head and strong hen of quality. Barry Merrison was second with a Lacewing hen of good colour and style. Adrian & Trevor Terheege were third with lovely faced White Cobalt cock.
